The house museum contains many historical items, including the home of General Lafayette, who served the United States during the Revolutionary War. The house is located less than a half mile away from the Ford Mansion, which was where Hamilton and his wife Eliza met in 1777. Hamilton would often come to this house to spend time with Eliza, and they were married on December 14, 1780.

The church’s structure was renovated to add space and accommodate a heating system. In 1979, the church was placed on the State and National Register of Historic Places.
